I am not quite sure how this happened, but as I was looking through last year’s blog posts I realized that I never posted this wedding. The good news is that it should bring some warmth on this cold Chicago day!
Amy and Mike said I do amongst their closest family and friends in Amy’s aunt and uncle’s amazing backyard in suburban Long Grove. It was simple and absolutely wonderful day. Despite the persistent thunderstorm that came through, the day went off without a hitch! Amy and her bridesmaids walked down the aisle barefoot and wore matching toe rings that were gifted to everyone just before the day started.
It was quite the day and I was so happy to be there to document it all. Congrats to Amy and Mike.
Take a look!
I loved the guy’s suits and ties.
And then the rain started, but that didn’t stop Amy & Mike!
Thanks for letting me be part of your day, Amy and Mike. Congratulations!
Anna & Steve are getting married this coming May at Chicago’s Loft on Lake and from what it sounds like, their day is going to be so much fun!
We recently did Anna & Steve’s engagement session on the snow-covered grounds of Lincoln Park Conservatory with their two amazing dogs. It was cold, but they were troopers! Also, if you know me, you know that I love winter and I was so excited to do this wintery session.
Enjoy and Congrats to Anna and Steve.
Once we got chilly, we just headed inside the Conservatory to warm up. It couldn’t have worked out any better.
I will see you two again in May and I simply cannot wait!
I was recently was asked to photograph this family twice this year. First, when Conor was six months and again when he turned one. It was so much fun to see how much he had changed over that time.
Take a look!
Thanks for letting me photograph your wonderful family and I am looking forward to next time!
Congrats you two, thanks for sharing your day with me!
Kaylee & Chris exchanged vows in November and could not have picked a more wonderful day to be outside. The weather was gorgeous, there was still some color on the leaves and they were all smiles all day long. Rather than having an engagement session, we spent two hours touring the city in the warm November light and had so much fun.
Kaylee & Chris were married at the beautiful Wicker Park Lutheran Church and followed it up with a celebration at Revolution Brewery. Fleur designed the beautiful arrangements, Style Matters had everyone dancing and the craft beer was flowing.
Everything about the day was absolutely lovely. Take a look!
From Lake Michigan, we headed in to the Lincoln Park Conservatory.
And then we were off to meet all of their friends and family before the ceremony started.
And then it was time to say “I Do” and celebrate! I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos in Part Two!
Congrats to Chris and Kaylee.
Then it was time for everyone to hit the dance floor!
The bride’s brothers make up the band, The Brothers Tabor. So they took the stage after a bit and were joined by the father of the groom… and eventually the bride!
Once again, congrats to Angela & Chris! Thanks so much for letting me be part of your day.
I’ve known Angela for awhile now since she is the sister-in-law of a good friend of mine. When I saw that she and Chris got engaged, I was so excited for them, but got even more excited when they asked me to document their wedding. Angela and Chris recently said “I Do” at Elk Grove Village’s Belvedere Banquet Hall. These two had the largest smiles on their faces the entire day and it was obvious how much they truly love one another. Immediately following the ceremony, it quickly turned into quite the celebration, but that will come in the next post.
This wedding ended up being a little more sentimental than I thought it was going to be for me though. It turned out that it was the site of the very first wedding I shot with the fabulous Imaginative Studios, four years ago! I didn’t realize it until I walked in the doors, but it felt great to be back for such a joyous occasion.
Without further ado, here is part one of two blog posts coming for these two lovely people. Congrats, you two!
I started out with Chris and the guys before heading over to where the girls were getting ready.
And then it was time for the first glance!
Take a look at their transportation for the day! Chris’s family takes it to all of the Bear’s games so they knew they wanted to incorporate it in somehow. It was quite a sweet ride!
After a quick photo session at the hotel, we headed over to the Belvedere for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.
Congratulations to Angela & Chris! I can’t wait to share part 2 with you!
I met the Schafer family just a couple of weeks ago on a beautiful autumn afternoon at the Morton Arboretum. It was so much fun getting to know this young family and apparently I grew up in the same small Illinois town as the dad. After some reminiscing, we got right to it and really lucked out with some amazing light and wonderful October weather. It turned out that at just 9 months old, Little R loved having her photograph taken!
Seriously, how cute is she?
Thanks so much for spending your afternoon with me. I can’t wait to see you in a few months when Little R turns a year old!
Jamie & John recently tied the knot at Open Secrets Studios in Chicago’s Near West Side. The night went off without a hitch and everywhere I looked, there was another beautiful detail that I had missed before. That shouldn’t be too surprising since Jamie used to be an amazing graphic designer and clearly had a vision for her big day. It was a photographer’s dream and quite the night.
Without further ado, take a look!
Each of the pieces in the invitation suite were letterpress printed by the talented Steracle Press and then hand-painted with watercolor by Jamie. She also did this for the table place cards, table numbers, ceremony programs and menus for the day. It was amazing!
Thanks for spending your day with me and congratulations. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness.
